The world superstar guitarist from U2, The Edge, is in the Dublin newspapers these days. The reason is the auction that will take place in Dublin on March 15th. The first guitar of The Edge will be sold to a lucky guy for a minimum price of 1800€.
To give you an idea about the value that the guitar took in these years, 20 years ago the same guitar was sold by the mother of The Edge to a colleague for a tiny amount of 20£; It was in the 70’s, the period when The Edge joined a small band called U2 and began to play with this exact guitar.
Later the lucky woman gets the signature of The Edge on it (he recognized it of course).
It’s not the first time that a guitar from the U2 member has been sold, in fact in 2007, The Edge donated a cream-coloured Gibson Les Paul to a charity auction in the United States, held to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Katrina. The guitar was sold for $240,000.
